Prime Minister Imran Khan will travel to Quetta to meet Hazaras protesting against the massacre of coalminers in Machh. A date has not been fixed but the federal cabinet has decided that the premier will visit Balochistan to speak to the families of the victims and the protesters. Eleven labourers from the Hazara community were killed and three injured at a coal mine in Balochistan’s Machh on Sunday. According to the Levies force, the incident took place late Saturday night near Bolan. Bolan Deputy Commissioner Murad Kasi confirmed that the labourers all lived in Hazara Town. Five of the victims were related. Prime Minister Khan has vowed that the government will not abandon the people affected by the massacre. Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed says the government is approving seven of the eight demands put forward by the protesters. The one demand the government cannot fulfil is the resignation of the Balochistan government. That isn't within our control, he said. Cabinet members Aijaz Shah and Nadeem Afzal Chan were the strongest proponents of the PM visiting Quetta. PM Khan said the situation is now under control and the government will take measures to safeguard people. His trip is quickly being scheduled but no date has been announced yet. 1. The Limuru View Point- It is Located along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway. It offers a fantastic view of the Great Rift Valley. 2. Fourteen Falls- It is located in Thika 65 Kilometers from Nairobi off the Thika-Garissa Road. It derives the name from their 14 successive falls of waters along the famous Athi River originating from the Aberdare Mountains from the border between Thika and Machakos. While at the Fourteen falls, one has can take boat rides across the River while enjoying breath taking views of the falls as the boat navigates downstream. A tour guide is always available to guide you as you adventure the falls.

3. Chania Falls- Welcoming attraction as you enter Thika town off the Thika Superhighway. It is the best attraction within Thika town and best viewed at the Blue Post hotel. The falls are in between the Chania River that draws its waters from the Aberdares.

4. Mugumo Gardens- Historical site located in Thika along the Mugo-Kabiru Road. It is named after the giant fig tree which had a 15 foot diameter where ancient legendary (Mugo Wa Kibiro) prophesied. According to the locals the fall of the tree in 1963 symbolized the end of the British colonialism in Kenya. The tree and surrounding environment is protected and tourists pay a fee to see it.

5. Kereita Forest Escarpment- Located along the Nairobi- Nakuru Highway in Lari constituency neighbouring Uplands and Kijabe. The escarpment is an eco-tourism site with over 130 plants and Bird specious. It is also host to African elephants, leopards and Columbus monkeys.

6. Thika World War Memorial Park- It is located along the General Kago road. Brave African soldiers who fought during the Second World War are immortalized here.

7. Ol-donyo Sabuk (Kilimambogo)- It lies near the 14 falls and is a Swahili word for the Mountain of the Buffalo and is home to the late philanthropist Sir Macmillan whose wife and house -help are said to have been buried here. The Macmillan library in Nairobi is built in honour of the philanthropist.

8 Lord MacMillan Castle- Located East of Ol-Donyo, the building that was Macmillan’s home is a museum. Macmillan housed his friend and former American President Roosevelt and the war time British Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill. The house served as a jail cell during the Second World War. The house has underground tunnels where meeting were held during the Second World War.

9. Mama Ngina Gardens- Located along the Mama Ngina driver in Thika town. Best for leisure walks and picnics.
